Combichrist's "Everybody Hates You" is phonetastic
Combichrist - Everybody Hates You
Combichrist must have something to do with Christ (a nickname for Mr. Alexander Graham Bell.) From the name alone I knew I'd like the tunes on this compact disc. "Everybody Hates You" is phonetastic!
Combichrist's songs are repetitive but exciting, like an old Rotary Phone. And they keep you humming along like a Busy Signal.
While the cuss words might sound offensive, the lyrics are clearly Pro-Bell. But you must listen closely!
Quote:
I am a bitch.
How do you want me?
From behind
or on my knees?
In the first verse, the evil Anti-Bell taunts The Phone Company, threatening to "screw them up the butt" if you'll pardon the language.
Quote:
I am a slut.
Please hold me down.
I'll be your noise.
This shit will fuck you up.
The second verse is The Phone Company's response ("I'll be your noise," i.e. your Phone.) At first they're like "Oh I'm easy, come get me." But then Almighty Bell reminds us who's really in charge: our "shit" would be "fuck[ed] up" if we could not Call.
Kids like modern and danceable music to listening to when they're not Calling. And this is it. The pro-Bell messages in Everybody Hates You makes it the perfect disc for just about anybody.
Well I hear the Ringing. Phone you later!
Just when we thought we knew everything about you, Ms. Bentley...
