Do you think English spelling is too difficult? For at least 100 years, some people have been advocating changing English spelling to a phonetic system (i.e. Spanish.)

Actually, I think English would look cooler if we did that. And it might help make things less confusing for those new to English, while confusing the crap out of those who already know it.
International Phonetic Alphabet? That's an awesome idea. English would look like a completely different language, even upon first glance.
But if every language used that, it might be made harder to quickly determine which language a text is in, since every language would have the same characters and everything would be spelled phonetically.
Also, I should point out that this is broad transcription. In other words, it lacks all the minute details that would make it highly pronouncable to a foreigner who could read IPA.
