What the hell is that "neutrality" act about anyway? Whatever it is, it better not come between me and my porn.

"Net neutrality" means all data on the internet is treated the same way. Seems simple enough.

But AT&T doesn't like this idea. They want to be able to charge companies extra for their data to move faster and more reliably than downloading, say, Ask Peeves. Or porn.

And if you ask me nothing should be done at all. The "net neutrality act" in Congress sounds like an underhanded ploy to introduce government regulation of the internet.

I think that'd be a great thing. They should regulate my bowel movements as well.

Who knows, maybe if someone else regulated what was passed through our bodies, we might be healthier. Or more full of nasty crap, depending on who made money from it.

I think advertising sort of does regulate it here and now. Crap seems to be what they're prescribing. The funny thing is that it's optional, but people consent to it because it's easier.

That's kind of the problem with the net -- both the government and the telecom companies want to regulate it.

Personally I think the internet's fine the way it is. I haven't heard any compelling arguments from either side as to why we need to change it now.
